Robert Lee Morton
Age 87, of Shorewood, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, IL. Born in Oakland, CA, the son of the late Malcom and Margaret (nee Scott) Morton, and residing in Shorewood Glen Community for the past 13 years. Robert was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was actively involved with the Shorewood Glen Veteran’s Group as well as the Shorewood Glen Golfers.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Diane (nee Ziesemer) Morton of Shorewood; his four children, Stephen (Lori) Morton of North Carolina, Craig (Jody) Morton of Green Bay, WI, Glenn (Pierce) DeSandre of California and Christine DeSandre of California; four grandchildren, Arick (Rachael) Morton, Kimberly Morton, Joseph Morton and Travis Morton; one great granddaughter, Copely Morton; brother, Stewart (Stella) Morton of Minnesota; numerous loving nieces and nephews including Susan (Keith) Morgan and Paul (Jenn) Morton; and his dearest sisters-in-law, Joan and Carol.
He was preceded by his parents and sister-in-law, Kay Morton.
A Memorial Gathering for Robert Lee Morton will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Prayer Service at 12:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Inurnment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
