Obituary of Mary Koren

Koren, Mary Joan (nee Kraske) Age 76, of Joliet, passed away suddenly, Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. She was born November 30, 1934 in Oak Park, IL to the late Mildred (nee Hoffman) and Harold Kraske, she was raised in Joliet, attending Joliet schools and graduating from Saint Francis Academy and the University of St. Francis. Beloved wife of 57 years to Ronald E. Koren; loving mother of Ron Jr., (Carolyn), Richard (Melissa), Victoria, and Edward (Janis) Koren. Dearest grandmother of Sean (Jill), Douglas (Nikki); Michael; Chad, Max and Fay. Also survived by her brother Harold "Edward" (Pat) Kraske and two nephews. Joan was a librarian at the University of St. Francis for twenty years. She enjoyed reading, was an animal lover as well as a Green Bay Packer fan. Funeral Services for Joan Koren will be held Thursday, October 27, 2011, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
