Robert Jay Krug
Age 76. Passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 7, 1931 in Dwight , he was the son of the late Herman F. and Luella (nee Haskins) Krug. He served with the United States Army. He worked as a crane operator for Caterpillar, Inc., Joliet Plant, retiring with over 40 years of service. Bob enjoyed traveling, camping, remodeling cylinder phonographs, and collecting and restoring music boxes. He was a member of Good Sam's Club, Atom Sam Club, Passport America Club, Caterpillar Camping Club, Camping World President's Club, A.A.R.P., N.A.S.A. Charter Lifetime Member, Michigan Antique Phonograph Society and its Wisconsin Chapter, International Musical Box Society and its Great Lakes Chapter, Dwight FFA Alumni, and National Geographic Society.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 55 years, Esther M. (nee Kleineberg) Krug of Dwight; three children, Mary L. (late Kenneth) Sigler, Richard F. (Margaret) Krug, and Janice L. (Gerald) Earing, all of Dwight; four grandchildren, Bridget (Brandon) Stych, Amy Krug, Brian Krug, and Jessica Earing; one great-grandson, Tanner Lee Stych; one brother, Earl (Jean) Krug of Dwight; and one sister, Marjorie (late Lyle) Pfeiffer of Delavan.
A memorial mass for Robert J. Krug will be Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dwight. Interment will be private. Memorials in his name to Dwight Ambulance or donor's choice would be appreciated. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by:
