Obituary of Erwin Kump

Kump, Erwin, age 74, of Joliet, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. He was born December 15, 1936 in Yugoslavia to the late Maria Mausser and Andreas Kump and emigrated to the United States at the age of 14. He is survived by his wife Sheila (nee Gilbert); four children, Randy (Tina) Kump, Amy (Richard) Conti, Erwin E. Kump and Joseph P. Kump; several grandchildren including Samantha Kump; one sister Maria (Larry) Faren, a sister-in-law Judy Kump and nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Joseph, John and Andrew Kump. Erwin, a proud US Army veteran and precision machinist, retired from Stone Container. He was previously employed at Alumax for a few years and also Joliet Wrought Washer Co. for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors and woodworking, especially creating sports themed placques. Funeral services for Erwin Kump will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011, 10:30 am at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Day officitating. Interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery.
