Rose M. LaPaso
(nee Bortoli)
Age 79, died peacefully on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at the home of her daughter in Channahon. Born January 16, 1927 in Joliet to the late Lee and Anna Sophie (nee Sargtenti) Bortoli, she was a lifetime area resident. Retired from Sears Roebuck in the receiving department after over 30 years of service. She was an excellent cook, especially known for her spaghetti sauce, and was also an avid gardener. Rose always put others needs before her own. She was a beautiful woman in every sense of the word.
Loving mother of James (Cheryl) LaPaso, Veronica "Ronnie" (Frank) Brandolino and LeeAnn (Robert) Halweg; proud grandmother of Lisa (Cavin), Jimmy, Danna, Mia; Frankie, Rose Marie, Jimmy, Kris; Leah (Tony) and Niki; dear great-grandmother of Cavin Lee and Zach; Korey and Paris; Dan and Gianna Rose; sister of Geraldine (Vic) Koelling, and Catherine (Don) Singletary; several nieces and nephews also survive; as well as her dear friend and cousin, JoAnn Polcyn.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, James L. LaPaso (September 2006); her parents; and her dear aunt, Mary Q.
Services and interment were held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood on Thursday, June 7, 2007. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. No visitation. Arrangements by:Fred C. Dames Funeral Home Joliet, Illinois
