Obituary of Margaret Lennon

Margaret O. Lennon (nee Olmsted) Age 92, formerly of Joliet, and late of Zionsville, IN passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 in Zionsville, IN. Born March 26, 1917 at home in Laurenceville, TN, she was the daughter of Charles and Fannie (nee Ellingwood) Olmsted. She lived in Berea, KY and Evansville, IN where she graduated high school. She later attended Guilford College in Greensborough, NC majoring in English. Margaret met her beloved husband, Jacob, at a Halloween party in 1940 and they were married one month later. She had the hardest job on the planet--raising six kids. She enjoyed reading, visiting with and encouraging others and volunteering at the library. She enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever she had the chance... Survived by her husband, Jacob J. Lennon II; children, Jacob of Arkansas; Dan of Caldwell, NJ, Michael of Irvine, CA, Chuck (Sue) of Seffner, FL, and Bill of Indianapolis, IN; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; she is also survived by her brother, Chuck of Pennsylvania. Preceded by her daughter, Kathryn; and her parents. Funeral services for Margaret O. Lennon will be Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Baptist Homes of Indiana Foundation, 5300 W. 96th St., Indianapolis, IN 46268, who took wonderful care of our mother over the years, would be appreciated.
