Loomis, Eunice H.
(nee Alexander)
Age 71. Suddenly, Thursday, May 12, 2011 in Phoenix, AZ as the result of complications arising from a stroke. Born in Joliet, she was a lifelong Joliet area resident before retiring in 2002. Former co-owner and operator of the Ranch Tavern, also a long time employee of the Honiotes Food Mart. Former member of the Joliet Elks Lodge #296 Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Post #1080 Women's Auxiliary, and past member of the Illinois Retail Liquor Association.
Survived by her children, Mark (Rose) Loomis, Paul Loomis, Brian (Sue) Loomis, Greg Loomis, Patrick (Roseann) Loomis, Kathy (Tom) Hutten, Carole (John) Butler, and Timothy (David) Loomis; six brothers, Robert Wayne (Jackie), Jack (Stevie), Donald (Dee), Billy (Lois), Chuck (Pam), and John (Pam) Alexander; two sisters, Barbara Meyer, and Patricia Rose Kelly; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne C. Loomis (2002); parents, Robert B. and Harriet R. (nee Beebe) Alexander; one sister, Thelma Grzincic; and one grandson, Michael Hutten.
Funeral Services for Eunice H. Loomis will be Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at:
