6 Messages Gerald D. Lorenz Age 65. Passed away peacefully Thursday, July 19, 2007 at his home. Born on November 27, 1941 in Joliet to the late Harry and Veronica (nee Penko) Lorenz, he was a lifetime area resident. A long time parishioner of St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church. Employed for 46 years at Gerdau Ameristeel (formerly Sheffield). Survived by his wife of 42 years, Mona (nee Bendele) Lorenz; children, Cindy (Jeff) Heap, Laura (Raymond) Bolyn and Joseph (Kelly Anne) Lorenz; grandchildren, Nicole, Reese, Ryan, Jacob, Logan, Brooke and Nicoli; one sister, Veronica Keifer; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Lorenz, Rose Lorenz, Grace Siron and Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gerald Lorenz, Jr.; and three brothers. Funeral Services for Gerald D. Lorenz will be Monday, July 23, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. As it was Gerald's final request, Cremation Rites will be accorded following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
