Obituary of Joseph Lukowski
Joseph S. Lukowski
Age 92, a lifelong resident of Joliet, passed away at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center on Wednesday, December 9, 2009. A WWII Army veteran, he was stationed in the Mariana Islands in the Pacific. Employed at U.S. Steel for 37 years, Joseph retired in 1979. In retirement he enjoyed gardening and model railroading, but most of all, the company of his family.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emily (Lepacek) Lukowski in 1993; his parents, Ignatius and Ursula (Butkiewicz) Lukowski; four sisters, Mary Migala, Helen Trawinski, Leona Paris, and Frances Lukowski; two brothers, Leonard Lukowski and Frank Lucas.
Joseph was the loving father of Barbara (George) Banas of Lisle, IL and Carol Lukowski of Joliet; the devoted grandfather of Michael (Barbara) Banas of Aurora, IL and the great-grandfather of Thomas and Nicolette Banas.
Funeral Services for Joseph S. Lukowski will be Saturday, December 12, 2009 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Avenue, Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. Visitation SATURDAY MORNING at the church from 9:30 a.m. until Mass at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements by:
