Obituary of Maurice Lyons II

Maurice W. Lyons II Age 73. At rest Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Born in Chicago, he was raised in Hollywood, IL. Formerly employed by the Illinois Department of Public Aid. He retired from Oak Park Township Senior Services. A recipient of the Cook County Sheriff's Senior Medal of Honor Award for volunteerism and commitment to serving others in 2004. Known for his compassion and sense of humor, love of antiques and restoring of historic homes, and cooking. He was a lifelong Cubs fan. Beloved father of Christine (Rolf) Ricker, Elizabeth Lyons, Maurice W. Lyons III and Jon Lyons; grandfather of Sam and Ryan Ricker; brother of Patricia (Ed) Martin; and uncle of several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Hyatt Lodge of Oak Brook, 2815 Jorie Boulevard, Oak Brook, IL 60523.
