Obituary of Henry Marentic

Marentic, Henry George "Hank" Age 87. At rest Thursday, June 9, 2011 at his late residence. Born in Joliet to the late Joseph and Mary (Filak) Marentic, he was a lifelong resident. Graduate of Joliet Township High School. A WWII U.S. Army Air Corp veteran. Retired from Olin Chemical (Blockson) Company following over 40 years of service. An avid fisherman and organic gardener. Surviving are three children, Michael (Donna) Marentic of San Diego, CA, Timothy Marentic of San Francisco, CA and Mary (Terry) Kern of Joliet; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Emily and Brandon Kern; three sisters, Frances Dempsey, Catherine Partak, and Ann Tozzi; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Montgomery) Marentic (1978); parents; siblings, Joseph and Anton Marentic; Helen Polesel, Emma Figeira, and Mary Menegon. Family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, June 13, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be held at Elmhurst Cemetery.
