Henry J. Bauer
"Hank"
Age 87. Friday, May 25, 2007 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, with his family by his side. Born in Kansas City, KS and a long time Shorewood resident. A WWII U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the European Theater. He was a captured POW for 22 months. Member of the International Operating Engineers Local #150, retiring after over 45 years of service. Member of Cantigny Post #367 VFW. Formerly employed for the Troy Township Offices. He was one of the original founding members of the Troy Fire Department, serving as the Chief Engineer with over 50 years of service to his community.
Preceded in death by his wife, Joan (nee Mulligan) Bauer (2002) and his parents.
Survived by his two daughters, Susan (John) Chase of Plainfield and Cindy (Roger) Barrowman of Shorewood; two grandsons, Matthew and Kevin Chase; one sister, Kay (late Frank) Brugnara of Phoenix, AZ, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Henry J. Bauer will be Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Army.
