Obituary of Florence Mateski

Florence Marie Mateski "Flo" Age 81, Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Born in Joliet, and a lifelong Joliet area resident. Retired from Jewel Food Stores after over 18 years of service as an office manager. One of her greatest loves was vacationing in the North Woods of Wisconsin. Preceded in death by her parents, Casper and Mary Slachta; one sister, Helen in infancy. Survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Joseph E. Mateski of Joliet; one son, Mark (Teri) Mateski of New Lenox; one daughter, Sandra Mateski of Joliet; three grandchildren, Jason Mateski of New Lenox, Aaron (Timarie) Mateski of Joliet and Lindsay Mateski of New Lenox; one great-granddaughter, Paige Marie Mateski; her dearest friend, Alma Kolodziej of Braidwood also survives. Funeral Services for Florence M. Mateski will be Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Bernard Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
