McQuen, Thomas A.
"Big T"
Age 74. At rest Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Joliet to the late Thomas J. and Helen (Griffin) McQuen, and formerly of Braidwood. A retired electrician for I.B.E.W. Union Local #176 for 48 years. Member of South Wilmington Sportsman's Club, and the Wilmington Moose Lodge. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to travel the countryside in his RV, spending winters in Mission, TX.
Survived by his loving wife, Sheila (Fisher) McQuen of Essex, IL; three children, Lori Vaughn of Braceville, Jeffrey (Debbie) McQuen and Scott T. (Brandy) McQuen of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Jeff, Jessica and Heather Vaughn; Josh Bourland; Sam and Lauren McQuen; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Tomany of Joliet, and Jean Flynn of Braidwood; one brother, Richard (Frieda) McQuen of Morris; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Dawn Bourland; and his loving dog, Sugar.
A Memorial Service for Thomas A. McQuen will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. Family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at:
