Dwight A. Moore
"Slim"
Age 71. Passed away Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Rush University Medical Center following a brave fight against cancer. Born in Morris, IL on July 6, 1938 to the late Clell and Eleanor (nee Ames) Moore. Retired after over 30 years of service with the Midwest Operating Engineers Local #150. Also, a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Dwight was an active member of the M.O.E. Retirees Club, a member of the Lockport Moose Lodge, and an active participant with the Misericordia Family Association.
Dwight was a loving husband, an outstanding father to his three children, an "adoptive" father to many, and a cherished friend to all. To the world he was just one man, but to us, he was the world.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Hilda "Holly" (nee Stroup) Moore of Plainfield; daughters Christine (Luis) Rodriguez of Ridgefield, CT and Diane (Marc) Barrera of Naperville, IL; son Kevin Moore of Chicago,IL; grandchildren Alec and Evia Rodriguez; sisters Nevada (George) Wietting, Ryal (Milton) Baumgarten, Artis (Kenneth) Koehler, Darlene Colwell, Osia (the late Carter) Lang, and Rae Jean (Perry) Walker; numerous loving and supportive nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and many good friends and neighbors.
Funeral services for Dwight A. Moore will be Friday, November 13, 2009 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy. In lieu of flowers, donations to Misericordia Heart of Mercy would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service by Pastor Matthew Robinson from Westminster Presbyterian Church to be held at 7:00 p.m. at :
