Obituary of Eileen Murphy

Eileen M. Murphy (nee Broadus) Age 85. Passed away peacefully Friday, November 28, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born March 5, 1923 in Ottawa to William and Mary (nee Sexton) Broadus, she was a graduate of St. Xavier High School. She worked for Sears and Roebuck as a sales and telephone operator many years, retiring in 1986. Eileen was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and the Paulites. She will be remembered always as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Francis L. "Murph" Murphy; one son, Gerald F. (Marlene) Murphy; one daughter, Mary Ann (Danny) Sloan; four grandchildren, Sean Murphy, Shannon (Dan) Schraeder, and Meghan and Bree Ann Sloan; one great-grandson, Parker David Sloan; one brother, James (Pat) Broadus; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded by one son, Michael D. Murphy (2003); one infant daughter, Colleen Marie; her parents: and three sisters, Helen Sheedy, Dorothy Ann Scott, and Lucille Stevenson. The family wishes to give special thanks to her angel, Stella, and the many other caregivers through hospice including Cathy, Laurel, Barb, Mary, Marcella, Diana and Veveca. Funeral services for Eileen M. Murphy will be Monday, December 1, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
