Kenneth W. Nall
"Dusty"
Age 79, of Joliet, died suddenly, Friday, April 24, 2009 at Silver Cross Hospital. Born January 7, 1930 in Bruce, MS to the late Trim and Molly Nall, he had resided in Joliet since 1959. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Beloved husband of 46 years to Edna (nee Hansel); loving father of Anita (William) Elliott, Lynette Ross, Mary Bivens, Darlene Fried, Arlene Nall, Terri Nall, Robert (Rose Ann) Moran, Caroline (Vince) Portlock and Karen Nall. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many great musician friends also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Reginald, Woodrow, Ardell, Walter "Curly" Nall, Ercell Mulkey, Mona Ross, Ruth Hurst and Ishmal Nall.
He was a refinisher at Turk furniture for 38 years, a window designer at the former Boston Store in downtown Joliet and also was employed at Material Service for many years.
Dusty thoroughly enjoyed writing and performing music. His greatest passion, musically, was playing his steel guitar which he enjoyed playing with many musical friends. Never one to sit back, Dusty also enjoyed acrylic painting and just about anything which required working with his hands. He had a wonderful and interesting life; Dusty enjoyed people, and people enjoyed Dusty.
Funeral services for Kenneth "Dusty" Nall will be Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to United Cerebral Palsy of Prairieland would be appreciated. Visitation Monday 3-8 p.m. at:
