Obituary of Catherine Nurczyk

Catherine H. Nurczyk (nee Kirincich) Age 91, peacefully under the care of Joliet Area Community Hospice on Monday, April 5, 2010 at Rosewood Care Center with her family at her side. Born April 13, 1918 in Joliet, the daughter of Anton and Carmela Kirincich, she was a lifetime resident. Loving wife of 57 years to the late William "Popeye" (1994); loving mother of William (Verna), late Thomas, 1993 (Barbara), Ronald (Joan), James (Susan) and Gerald Nurczyk; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Shirley (Frank) Krzich also survive. Preceded in death by her husband; son; parents; two brothers, Tony and Ed (Rose) Kirincich; five sisters, Mary and Anna Kirincich, Antoinette Fazio, Nel (late Paul) Lukanich and Marge (late August) Jeriha. Member of St. Anne Catholic Church, the Mother's Club at St. Mary Nativity. She was an excellent baker known for her poticas and strudels. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She and her sister, Marge, catered in the area for many years. Funeral Services for Catherine H. Nurczyk will be Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery.
