Obituary of John O'Connor

John Michael O'Connor Age 84, of Shorewood, and formerly of Country Club Hills, born and raised in Chicago, passed away December 6, 2011 at Provena Villa Franciscan. Beloved husband of Ann Marie (nee McEgan) O'Connor; loving father of Michael (Ann), John (Nancy) and Mary O'Connor; dear grandfather of four; dear brother of Michael, Thomas, and Lillian. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lillian (nee Hansen) O'Connor; and one brother, James. A U.S. Navy veteran. John worked at Commonwealth Edison, retiring after 35 years of service. Member of IBEW, Knights of Columbus and ComEd Retirees. Visitation will be Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road Joliet. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Deacon Dan Mahoney officiating. Family and friends can meet at 10:00 a.m. for interment on Monday, December 12, 2011 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded under the auspices of the United States Navy.
