Age 91. Passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born May 15, 1919. Yanes farmed in the Plainfield/Joliet area for many years and worked for Olin Chemical for 30 years. A decorated veteran of World War II (European Theatre) and served as a chauffeur for President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Member of the Joliet Moose Lodge #300, life member of Cantigny Post VFW #367. Member of St. Mary Immaculate Parish in Plainfield for 60 years.
Survived by his wife of 64 years whom he married August 24, 1946, Helen (nee Cankar) Ozbolt; four children, Jay (Holly) Ozbolt, Arnie (Linda) Ozbolt, Geri (Ed) Condon, and Janet (Bill) Chamberlin; eight grandchildren, Jayne (Mickey) Alessio, Jason (Sheena) Ozbolt, Allison (Steven) Foster, Andrea (fiancé Kevin Jomant) Ozbolt, Adriene (Ryan Schumann) Dinoffria, Anthony Dinoffria, Meghan (Rob) Gerson, and Kiel Chamberlin; eight great-grandchildren, Isabella Alessio, Mia Alessio, Austin Ozbolt, Caleb Ozbolt, Zach Schumann, Jordan Dinoffria, Jacob Gerson, and Alexa Gerson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ara Ozbolt; brothers, James and William; sisters, Mary Cohil, and Josephine Jaskoviak.
Funeral Services for Yanes Ozbolt will be Friday, March 25, 2011 at 11:45 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Interment Plainfield Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the Guardian Angel Home would be appreciated. Visitation FRIDAY MORNING 9:00 a.m. until time of services at:
