Obituary of John Patterson
John W. "Jack" Patterson III
Age 73, of Shorewood, IL., passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
He was born September 1, 1937 in Streator, IL to the late Virginia (nee Melody) and John W. Patterson II. He attended St. Ambrose College and graduated from Northern Illinois University.
A U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He and his wife owned and operated the Patterson Travel Agency in Joliet. He was previously employed at Joyce Beverages for 27 years. Jack enjoyed golf, fishing and being a die-hard White Sox fan.
Beloved husband of 48 years to Janice (Wilkinson); Loving father of John (Kimberly) Patterson IV, Mike (Sarah) Patterson, Susan (Terry) D'Arcy and Mindy (Bill) Mondrella. Proud grandfather of John William V, Maxwell and Melody; Luke, Samuel and Zachary; Jack and Caroline; Michael and Eliana. Also survived by two brothers, Scott (Gloria) and Doug (Kathy) Patterson as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will begin Saturday, August 6, 2011 with a prayer at 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home to First Assembly of God Church, 1741 Essington Rd. Joliet where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Saturday morning from 10:00 am until the prayers begin at :
