Mary Josephine Penn
(nee Clark)
Age 96, late of Morris and formerly of Evergreen Park, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 15, 1911 in Chicago to the late Albert and Mary (Regan) Clark and was raised in Chicago where she attended St. Gabriel School. She married Bernard Penn May 31, 1932 at St. Gabriels. Mary was a crossing guard until age 76 at 89th and California, St. Bernadette's (District 123). She had resided in Morris since 1996. A member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Beloved mother of Ben (Katherine), Ray (Marlies) and Mary (Harry) Davy.
Proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Stacia and Michael; Christina and Julie; Eric, Darrin and Nicole. Dear great-grandmother of eighteen great grandchildren, Blake, Alyssa, Benjamin, Samuel, Madeline, Samantha, Monica, Megan, Nicholas, Hunter, Collin, Danny, Christian, Jackson, Eli, Hunter, Ashlyn, Delaney and Hayden.
Preceded in death by her husband Bernard (Feb. 11, 1984); her parents; three sisters, Agnes, Eileen and Rita, and two brothers, Albert in infancy and John.
The family of Mrs. Penn will always be grateful to the staff of Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and Joliet Area Community Hospice for the excellent care and compassion shown to Mary.
Visitation Sunday, February 10, 2008 from 2-5 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Rt. 6 at Deerpath Dr., Morris.
