Obituary of Robert Bennett

Robert K. Bennett "Bob" Age 67. At rest Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cairo, MO, he was an area resident the past 45 years. Member of the Illinois National Guard for six years. Retired from Caterpillar, Inc., Joliet in 2008. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church. An avid gardener. Bob enjoyed every minute he spent with his grandchildren. Surviving is his loving wife of 46 years, Carol (nee Cockrum) Bennett; four daughters, Sheila Bennett and Rhonda Bennett, all of Channahon, Kym (Reynold III) Mitchell of Washington, IL, and Krystin (Jens) Hoffmann of Plainfield; two grandchildren, Cameron and Alyssa-Ravae Mitchell; two sisters, Bonnie Winkie of Bevier, MO and Shirley (Rex) Davis of Macon, MO; three brothers, Roger (Diane) of Huntsville, MO, Donnie (Marcia) of Glendive, MT, and Jerry Bennett of Bevier, MO. Preceded by his parents, Ralph and Ruby Bennett. Funeral services for Robert K. Bennett will be Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to Holy Family Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Visitation Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m. at: FRED C.
