Obituary of Steven Phillips
Steven V. Phillips
Age 47, of Plainfield, passed away suddenly, Saturday, January 9, 2010. Born June 16, 1962 in Evergreen Park. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he was a lifelong member of the Ironworkers Local #1 and was the owner/operator of Phillips Steel Erectors.
Steve was a loving and devoted father, who enjoyed all his childrens' activities, and coaching their teams. An avid outdoorsman and fisherman, he loved traveling, and spending time with his family in Door County. He was also a Chicago sports fan, especially the Blackhawks, and was passionate about his forest of Bonsai.
Survived by his wife, Jennifer L. (nee Muehleck) Phillips; four children, Jillian M. Phillips, twins Jacob S. and Zachary M. Phillips, and Luke T. Phillips; his mother, Eileen Phillips; his brothers and sisters, Laura (William) Berkley, Paula (Scott) Bullyan, Jack (Joan) Phillips, Cindy Phillips, Theresa (Nick) Mauro, Gregory (Holley) Phillips, Andrea (Jim) Gregory, and Jessica (Eric) Matanyi; in-laws, Gerald S. and Carolyn Muehleck; his wife's siblings, Beth Stady, Mary (Rob) Reynolds, and Mark (Denise) Muehleck; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Clifford Preetorius.
Preceded by his father, John "Jack" Phillips.
Funeral Services for Steven V. Phillips will be Friday, January 15, 2010 at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Plainfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Wounded Warriors Project would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday 3-8 p.m. at:
