Obituary of Phyllis Pitsenberger

Phyllis J. Pitsenberger (nee Taylor) Age 76, of Flandreau, South Dakota, died Friday, September 21, 2007 at the Flandreau Medical Center. Phyllis was born October 5, 1930 in Flandreau, S.D. to Mike and Alice (Raymond) Taylor. On February 14, 1947, she married George Pitsenberger in Flandreau. In 1952 they moved to Illinois where she worked and raised her family before returning to Flandreau in 1990. Phyllis loved working puzzles, playing cards and making cookies for her family. Everyone was welcomed to her home and all that were close to her called her "Mom", even her friends. Phyllis held a very special place in her heart for her family, especially her sisters and brothers. Thankful for having shared in her life are her sons, Harold (Ruth) and Rodney Pitsenberger both of Rockdale and Jimmy (Sue) Pitsenberger of Flandreau; daughters, Karen Bowman, Sheila Nicole, Tammy Pitsenberger and Georgene Compton all of Flandreau, S.D.; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Brumond and brothers, Freddy (Barb) and Darrell (JoAnn) Taylor, all of Minnesota. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Janet; and granddaughter, Tori. Funeral Services for Phyllis J. Pitsenberger will be Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Rev. Kevin Comfort officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at: FRED C.
