Charles A. Bentson
With his family by his side, Charlie went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, June 14, 2009. He was a lifelong resident of the Joliet area. A graduate of Joliet Catholic High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Sierra. He was a retired over-the-road driver, going under the call-name "Stretch"; and a member of the Teamsters Union Local #710 in Chicago. He attended Minooka Bible Church. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his favorite White Sox. His favorite pastime was playing on the Wii with his grandchildren.
Survived by his wife, Theodora "Teddie" (nee Zemeske); son, Blaine Bentson of Joliet; two daughters, Catherine (Don) Keene of Ozark, MO and Shari (Brent) Molskness of Minooka; six grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Stephanie, Katie, Carly, Nathan, Mary and Julia; he is also survived by his sister, Alice (Peter) VanderKooy; sister-in-law, Carol Bentson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Rita Bentson; and one brother, John Raymond.
Funeral services for Charles A. Bentson will be Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Minooka Bible Church, 412 N. Wabena Avenue, Minooka, with a luncheon immediately following. Private interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at:
