Obituary of Francis Berens

Francis A. Berens "Frank" Age 91. Passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Joliet March 17, 1919 and a lifelong resident. Attended Union Grade School and Joliet Township High School. Employed by U.S. Steel Corp. retiring in 1980. Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4400. Survived by his loving wife, Margaret (Formento) Berens; son, Richard of Joliet; daughter, Regina (David) Pommier of Plainfield; two grandsons, Joel and James Pommier of Plainfield; two sisters, Doris Smego of Joliet and Irma (Harlow) Fox of Morris; two brothers, John of Coal City and James (Raquel) Schneider of Joliet; sister-in-law, Mardel Schneider. Preceded by his parents, Frank and Clara (Eich) Berens; two brothers, Lavern and Edward Berens; sister, Alice Ardaugh. Funeral Services for Frank Berens will be Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Private family interment St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home would be appreciated. Visitation Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at: FRED C.
