Obituary of Lonnie Randolph
Randolph, Lonnie R.
Age 79, of Joliet, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, surrounded by his loving family. Born August 18, 1931 in Joliet to the late Lonnie F. and Mary (nee Ruddy) Randolph, he graduated from St. Patrick's Grade School and Joliet Township High School. He served with the United States Navy during the Korean War, and was a proud member of Teamsters Local #179, retiring from P. T. Ferro after many years of service. After retirement, Lonnie worked the last eight years at St. Paul the Apostle, where he had many friends.
Lonnie will long be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 57 years, Sylvia A. (nee Langevin) Randolph; two daughters, Luanne Randolph of Joliet, and Jill (Jeff) Scholtes of Morris; three grandchildren, Douglas (Dawn) Randolph, Loni (Michael) Haddock, and Jon Scholtes; two great-grandchildren, Macie and Jack; and his daughter-in-law, Jody Randolph of Wilmington.
Preceded in death by his parents; one son, Douglas R. Randolph; and one sister, Lois Dalman.
A Memorial Mass for Lonnie R. Randolph will be celebrated Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Private interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials made to the family will be used to support several of his favorite charities and causes. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by:
