Obituary of Evelyn Richmond

Evelyn A. Richmond Age 85. Passed away peacefully Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home. Born in Joliet on January 6, 1923 and a lifelong Joliet resident. Attended St. Raymond's Grade School; graduated from Farragut School Class of 1936 and Joliet Township High School Class of 1940. Employed with Marshall Fields in Chicago in the gift purchasing department for 41 years, retiring in 1985. Former life member of the D.A.V.; member of Louis B. David Post Auxiliary, Northshore American Legion, the Grandmothers Club Portage Park, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and the Paulites. Preceded in death by her husband, Gordon J. Richmond (April 18, 1997); parents, John J. and Lorene M. (nee Unrau) Smith; one brother, Raymond I. (Annie) Smith; and one brother in infancy Loving mother of Ken P. Barton of San Diego, CA; grandmother of Heidi (Daymen) Kaiser of Downers Grove and Eric Barton of Freeport, IL; proud great-grandmother of three; special friend, Frank Donohoe of Shorewood. All friends and relatives are invited to gather at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Avenue, Joliet on Monday, July 21, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt.
