Obituary of Barbara Ring

Barbara A. Ring (nee Huss) Mrs. Barbara Ring 60 died peacefully on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home following a brief but extremely courageous battle with cancer. Barb was born in Ottawa on February 6, 1947 to Frank and Esther (Higgins) Huss. She was raised a farm girl in the Seneca / Marseilles area and graduated from Seneca High School. Barb was eternally grateful to her friend, Martin Fleming for giving her three special gifts; her boys Marty, Mark and Micah. In 1984 Barb met the man who committed to loving her the rest of her life. On October 11, 1986 Barb married Grant W. Ring, who then gave her the daughters she never had; Vickie and Tina. Through the years Barb was surrounded by the lights in her life she was most proud of. Nothing gave her greater pleasure than spending time with her grandchildren; Ashur, Chase, Leighton, Deavon, Taylor, Spencer, Alexis, Keegan, Lexie, Maddie, Rachel and Sami. Barb worked as Club Manager of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1024 for the last 6 1/2 years. She spoke fondly of all her customers, bosses and employees. She took great pride and enjoyment in her work at the Club. She met many friends throughout her years at the Eagles Club which helped to comfort her during her final weeks. Barb was a member of the FOE #1024 Auxiliary, Loyal Order of the Moose Chapter 544 and was co-founder and charter member of the Victor Mason Society and was honored as Grundy County Bartender of the Year in 1996. Barb was preceeded in death by her mother Esther Huss; niece Denise Muffler, brother-in-law Bucky Durando and father-in-law Avy Ring. Barb will be dearly missed by her husband Grant Ring; children Marty (Christy) Fleming, Mark (Kelly) Fleming, Micah Fleming, Vickie (Mark) Bozik and Tina (Greg) Varney; her grandchildren Taylor Fleming, Chase Carey, Rachel Varney, Sami Varney, Leighton Carey, Spencer Fleming, Ashur Fleming, Deavon Carey, Lex Carr, Lexie Bozik, Maddie Bozik, Keegan Fleming. Her father Frank Huss; mother-in-law June Ring; siblings Rita (Jim) Magee, Sharon Durando, Loretta (Tom) Gass, Judy (Jay) Sanders and Duane (Elaine) Ward; sister-in-law Celia (Rich) Hiteman and Paula (Al) Koch. Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends also survive. Funeral services for Barbara A Ring will be Friday November 23, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel Fr. Dennis Schafer officiating.
