Greg Rouskey
Age 56. Passed away peacefully on March 19, 2011 with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 25, 1954 in Burlington, Iowa and was raised in Ashland, Wisconsin.
Survived by his loving wife and high-school sweetheart, Mary (Egan) Rouskey, Son, Jason (Jill Seeman) Rouskey, grandson, Benjamin Travis Rouskey. Also survived by his mother, Patricia Sullivan, brothers, Nick (Kathy) Rouskey, Chris (Patricia) Rouskey, brother-in laws, Rick (Helen) Egan, Thomas (Betty) Egan and John Egan, also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his son, Travis M. Rouskey (1986) and stepfather, Francis Sullivan (2004).
Previously owned and operated his own company, Bay Shore Construction. He was previously employed by Egan Chevrolet in Ashland, Wisconsin for 12 years. Presently employed by Cardinal Transport in Coal City, Illinois as Safety Director. Greg became a respected authority in the transportation safety industry, often providing expert testimony in transportation litigation throughout the country.
Greg will always be remembered for his incredible sense of humor and practical jokes and as a dear friend to all who knew him. He was a avid golfer and thoroughly enjoyed his Saturday morning foursome and his many friends and co-workers at Cardinal Transport. He also enjoyed a special relationship with his Uncle Nick Rouskey and his wife, Judy. The manner in which Greg faced his disease was a true inspiration to all of those around him.
Our family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support in this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
Funeral services for Greg Rouskey will be Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Ashland, WI will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Tuesday, 3-7 p.m. at:
