Martha M. Rousonelos
(nee Ferencik)
Age 83. Passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009 at her home with her family by her side. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet/Plainfield area resident. Martha's strength through her illness was an inspiration to us all. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survived by five children, Gus M. (Diane) Rousonelos of Plainfield, Joan (Mike) Carrigan of Gallatin, TN, Kathy Blessent of Plainfield, Michael J. (Nancy) Rousonelos of Oswego and John (Sherry) Rousonelos of Earlville, IL; eleven grandchildren, Lori (Troy) Skoog, Jennifer (Dr. Dave) Schlieben, Sara (Zack) Stanford, Kathy (Jim) Dieringer, Barbara and Jim Carrigan, Michael and Stephanie Rousonelos, Marco (Megan) Rousonelos, Christina (Brian) Bice and John (Emilee) Rousonelos; eleven great-grandchildren, Kate, Hope and Gunner Skoog; Amanda and Nathan Schlieben; Hayden Dieringer; Derek and Nicole Rousonelos; Brandon Bice and Kayte and John Rousonelos; one sister, Mary Caldwell of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law, Marge (late Pete M. in 1993) Apostolou of Joliet and Zara (late Dr. Richard in 1987) Dejarld of Shorewood; brother-in-law, Andrew (Mary) Rousonelos of Montgomery; sister-in-law, Nola (late Dr. Stanley in 1998) Rousonelos of Joliet. The family would like to express their appreciation to Meli, Razel and Bella for their thoughtful, professional and loving care they gave our mother. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her husband, Michael G. Rousonelos (Sept. 3, 2006); two brothers-in-law, Peter G. (1999) (Anna, 1992) Rousonelos and; her sister-in-law, Anne Scaropoulos (2006).
Funeral Services for Martha M. Rousonelos will be Friday, June 19, 2009 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice or St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in her name would be appreciated.
