Obituary of Elizabeth Ryan

Elizabeth M. Ryan (nee Oakes) Age 93, of Joliet, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2007 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home. Born in St. Anne, IL on January 9, 1915, she was a longtime Joliet resident. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Employed by Caterpillar Tractor Co., in the cafeteria for 15 years; retiring in 1970. Preceded in death by her husbands, Lamoin Russell, John Cissell and Thomas J. Ryan; parents, Howard and Lauretta (nee Basillion) Oakes. Loving mother of Betty Jean (James, dec'd.) Mettille of Minooka, Phyllis (Wayne) Kirby of Oceanside, CA. and Nancy (Chuck, dec'd) Phelps of West Palm Beach, FL. Beloved grandmother of 14, fond great grandmother of 19 and a great-great grandmother of 9. Fond sister of Everette (Vernetta) Oakes of Algonquin, IL. and Martene Youart of Ft. Knox, KY. Also survived by a sister-in-law Bernice (Frank dec'd) Ryan, step-children and step-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Elizabeth M. Ryan will be Monday, March 3, 2008 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Woodlawn Mausoleum.
