Ella J. Ryan (nee Jamieson) Age 97. Monday, July 30, 2012 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in St. Paul, MN, and raised in Chicago, she had resided in Joliet since 1940. Graduate of Mundelein College, Chicago. Beloved mother of Lynn (Edward) Moran of Hellertown, PA, and Lawrence (Charleen) Ryan Jr. of Joliet. Dear grandmother of Marilyn (Douglas) Cochrane, Susan (George) Murphy, Edward (Jo Marie) Moran, Erik (Betsy) Moran; Matthew (Genevieve) Moran, Lawrence (Jill) Ryan III, Daniel Ryan, Sarah (Eric) Cler, and Mary Catherine Ryan. Proud great-grandmother of 18. Also survived by two sisters, Anne D. (late Edward) Walsh, Mary Jane Walz; a sister-in-law, Mona C. Jamieson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence M. Ryan; four brothers, Edward S. (late Mariella), William D., Robert J. (Mona), R. Alan and, in infancy, Walter Jamieson; one sister, Marguerite M. (late William) Hinz. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and formerly the Cathedral of St. Raymond. Catechist in St. Paul's Religious Education Program 15 years. Funeral Services for Ella Jamieson Ryan will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Ave., Joliet, where all friends and relatives are invited to gather from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to the Third Order of the Sisters of St. Francis or to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation. FRED C.
