Obituary of Gilbert Salazar SR

Gilbert Salazar, Sr. Age 77. Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Silver Cross Hospital. Born January 13, 1933 to the late Ignacio and Ofelia (Hernandez) Salazar. Gilbert was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandpa, who provided well for his family. He was very good with his hands, working many years as a upholsterer, and having the ability to fix anything. Surviving are his children, Gilbert (Dora) Salazar, Jr., Rosie (Jaime) Guajardo, Joe (Rita) Salazar Sr., David Salazar Sr., Richard Salazar, Mary Ann Dickey, and Daniel Salazar; one daughter-in-law, Linda Salazar; 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Zeke (Lorene), John (Antonia), and Nacho (Maria) Salazar; three sisters, Lupe Hernandez, Anna (Leo) Tibbitts, and Gloria (Tony) Mejia; one sister-in-law, Andrea Salazar; one son-in-law, Charles Dickey; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded by his wife and the love of his life, Concepcion "Connie" (nee Estrada) Salazar (1992); two sons, Ernest and Pete Salazar; two grandchildren, Vincent and Connie Marie; his parents, one brother, Abel, one sister, Maria Rivera; and one brother-in-law, Richard Rivera. Funeral Services for Gilbert Salazar, Sr. will be Friday, January 22, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
