Obituary of Marsha Schwartz

Marsha H. Schwartz Passed away Monday, March 8, 2010. Marsha was a Spanish teacher at Lyons Township in LaGrange for 34 years. After she retired, she taught for five years at Gardner Township High School. She was Secretary of Joliet Jewish Congregation; Secretary of the AATSP (American Association of Teachers Spanish and Portuguese) for more than 20 years. A lifetime member of NEA, AATSP, Joliet Junior College and University of Illinois Alumni, the University of Illinois Extension Service Learn and Do Group, and lifetime member of Hadassah. She recently received the AATSP lifetime Achievement Award. She liked to travel and spend time with her friends. She left no immediate family, but many friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Thelma (nee Jacobson) Schwartz. Funeral Services for Marsha H. Schwartz will be Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Rabbi Charles Rubovits officiating. Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joliet Jewish Congregation, the Welfare Chest or the Holocaust Museum in Skokie.
