John T. Senffner
Age 90. Passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 with his loving family by his side.
John was a true family man and never missed a day asking "how's the family?". His kindness, generosity, gentleness and humor will never be forgotten. The family repairman, he was a simple man with many interests and enjoyed a long life of learning new things. He was also an avid White Sox fan. John retired from Reynolds Metals Company with over 30 years of service.
Beloved father of Joan Jevitz of Joliet, Cheryl (Ron) Noble of Plainfield, and Thomas J. (Pat) Senffner of Pekin; devoted grandfather of Gina (Jim) Glasgow, Timothy (Jamie) Jevitz, Joy (Mike) Kaminski, Jodie (Dave) Dziuba, Carrie Noble, Scott (Laura) Noble, Kristen Noble, Matt (Amy) Luzbetak, Angie Senffner and Ben Senffner; cherished great-grandfather of Nickolas and Cody Columbus, Jimmy and Dolan Glasgow, Timothy Jr., Kelsie, Ryan and McKensie Jevitz, Michael, Brandon and Drake Kaminski, Joey and Sofie Dziuba, Anthony Noble, and Jake, Max and Joey Luzbetak; fond brother-in-law of Flo Senffner and Ruth Skoff; and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Preceded by his beloved wife of 53 years, Margaret A. (nee Skoff) Senffner (December 26, 1993); his parents, Florian and Helen (nee Bajt) Senffner; three sisters, Helen (Joe) Labash, Sophie (Joe) Strametz, and Mayme (Tony) Cavoretto; and three brothers Tom, Ralph and Bill Senffner.
The family wishes to thank his caregivers over the past years, especially Jerry for his kind attention to Dad in his last years.
Funeral services for John T. Senffner will be Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Nativity Cemetery. Memorials to the family will be used to support the ministries of St. Mary Nativity, Holy Family, and St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Churches, the Cathedral of St. Raymond, and Joliet Area Community Hospice.
