Obituary of Jean Skole
Skole, Jean Marie
(nee Stefanich)
Age 80, late of Wilmington, and formerly of Joliet, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County surrounded by her loving family.
Jean served two terms as a Joliet Park District Commissioner and retired from the City of Joliet with over 20 years of service. She was an active volunteer with many community organizations, the Cathedral of St. Raymond, St. Raymond School and Joliet Catholic High School.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Her unconditional love and deep Catholic faith were felt by everyone she came in contact with.
Survived by her children, David (Rita) Skole of Elwood, Gregory (Rosemary) Skole of Wilmington, Jill (Judith Sutter) Skole of Wilmington, Ann (James) Wetstein of Joliet, and Jack (Kelly) Skole of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Sarah (Brian) White, Jeffery and Matthew (Tara) Skole, Kelly (John) Slavik, Suzie Skole, Eric, John and Sandy Wetstein, and Jack Roman Skole; step grandchildren, Sara and Marie Sutter, Erin and Madeline Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Brian and Daniel White, Mason and Kaleb Skole, and Silas, Sienna, Adin and Elijah Slavik; two sisters-in-law, Joan (John) Nichols and Dorie (late Michael) Starcevich; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her beloved husband of 58 years, John R. "Jack" Skole (2010); one daughter, Sandra Skole; her parents, Martin and Elizabeth (Kauzlaric) Stefanich; and one brother, Martin Stefanich.
Funeral Services for Jean M. Skole will be Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Joliet, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Agape Missions NFP, 840 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, IL 60435. Visitation WEDNESDAY MORNING, FROM 8:30 a.m. until time of services at:
