Obituary of Walter Skroko

Walter Leo Skroko Age 93, passed away suddenly, Sunday July 10, 2011 due to respiratory failure. Survived by two sisters, Rose (late Rollin) Walker of Joliet and Bernice (late Robert) Walker of Aurora. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Skroko, and his brothers and sisters, Ann (late Joseph) Birsa, Clementine (late Joseph) Perisich, Rudy (late Maria) Skroko, Mary (late Walter) Bozic, Bill (late Margaret) Skroko, Tony (late Helen) Skroko and Pete (late Agnes) Skroko. Walter was a decorated WWII Army Veteran serving in the South Pacific. He was a proud graduate of Joliet Township High School and Joliet Junior College. Walter will always be remembered for his generous, gentle and caring demeanor, and his positive attitude. "It's good all around". Funeral services for Walter Skroko will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011, 10:45 am from the funeral home to St. John Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Nativity Cemetery.
