Obituary of Sandra Smego

Sandra K. Smego (nee Bliefnick) Age 52, of Joliet, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born August 21, 1957 in Springfield, IL to Walter "Beetle" and Shirley (nee Aubrey) Bliefnick, she had resided in Joliet for many years. She received her RN degree from Joliet Junior College, and was a registered nurse at the Community Health Center of Will County. Beloved wife of Robert Smego; loving mother of Jennifer (Matthew) Rothbart; dear step-mother of Michael Smego; proud grandmother of Tyler and Alaina Rothbart; also surviving are her parents; two brothers, Charles Bliefnick and Gary (Jan) Bliefnick; her nephew, Jay Bliefnick. She will also be missed by "B.B." the cat. Sandra was a kind and caring woman, who enjoyed attending car shows and taking drives with her husband on their Harley-Davidson. The Smego Family will always remember the staff of Joliet Area Community Hospice for their compassion and support. Funeral Services for Sandra K. Smego will be Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment St. Mary Nativity Cemetery.
