Obituary of Korina Acosta
Korina Perez Acosta
Age 31, of Chicago, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet.
Shaped by the Salvation Army throughout her early life, she and her husband accepted the call and became Captains serving in Idaho, California, and most recently at the Irving Park Corps in Chicago. Despite her illness, Korina put the needs of her family and others first. She was a fighter and never gave up. She loved to dance, bake, cook, and participate in dramas. She loved serving the Lord.
Survived by her husband, Capt. Luis Acosta of Chicago; her children, Luis M. Acosta and Andrea Joy Acosta; her mother, Maria Perez; two sisters, Linda (Jesse) Trevino and Nancy (Eduardo) Reyes; one brother, Robert Perez; many nieces and nephews, her husband's parents, Armando and Martha Acosta; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her father, Roberto Perez; one sister, Mina Perez; and one nephew, Joshua Trevino.
Funeral Services for Korina Perez Acosta will be Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to an education fund for her children would be appreciated. Visitation Tuesday 2-9 p.m. at:
