Obituary of Mary Blanding

Mary Therese Blanding (nee Raus) Age 83, of Morris since 2000, and formerly of Oak Park, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011 at home with her family by her side, four years to the day of her late husbands death. Born in Chicago on July 10, 1927 to the late Catherine (Flynn) and Frank Raus. Surviving are six children, Merry Sue (Elihue), Connie, Bonnie (Tim), George Harvey, Elizabeth (James) Dettmann, and David; five grandchildren, Robert (Rachel), Michael (Susan), William (Audrey), Catherine (Brandon), and Kathryn I. ; eight great- grandchildren, Jacqueline, Lexi, Nathan, Alecia, William, Jr., Ace, Hailey and baby Natalie on the way; sister of Catherine (Charles) Pentis, twins, Joan (Rich) Stukus and Charlotte (Walt) Smieszny, sister-in-law of Fran Raus, Charlene Raus, Forrest Blanding and June Payne and aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Albert Blanding (4/25/07); her son, Dennis Blanding; her parents; two brothers William and Francis Raus, nephew Kevin Raus and niece Patricia Raus. Mary Therese received her Nurses training at St. Bernard's School of Nursing. She worked at McNeal and West Suburban Hospital. Funeral services for Mary Therese Blanding will be Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Catholic Church, Minooka, for services at 10:30 a.m. Private inurnment at St. Mary Cemetery at a later date.
