Obituary of Edna Spreitzer

Edna M. Spreitzer (nee Gleason) Age 74. Passed away Saturday, September 15, 2007 at her late residence. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. A graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1951. Retired from Commercial Electronic Systems (C.E.S.) as a bookkeeper after over 18 years of service. A member of the Ladies Auxiliary Cantigny Post VFW #367, the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post #1080, and the Slovenian Women's Union Branch #20. Edna was an accomplished quilter, and for many years she met at her home on Monday nights with her friends of the Quilting Bee, up until this last Monday night. Preceded in death by her son, Joseph J. Spreitzer (1988); her parents, Everett and Nadia Gleason; and twin sisters in infancy. Survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Joseph F. Spreitzer; one son, Daniel (Carol, nee Condon) Spreitzer; one grandson, Christopher Spreitzer, and one granddaughter, Sara Spreitzer all of Joliet. Funeral Services for Edna M. Spreitzer will be Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Due to the compassionate care that Edna and her family have received, they would like any memorials directed to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice in her name.
