Bernard E. Stahoviak
Age 91. Passed away Monday, October 27, 2008 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Joliet, he was a lifelong Plainfield area resident. Member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #422 for 55 years. He was a 4th Degree Knight and Charter Member of Good Shepherd Council #5573 with over 40 consecutive years of service, and where he served as 4th Grand Knight. He was also an active member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, where he served many years as usher and food pantry volunteer. He was an avid fisherman.
Survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary Louise (nee Schmitz) Stahoviak; three daughters, Marilyn (Ronald) Drumm of Plainfield, Jane (Thomas) Gallagher of Plainfield and Luann (Edward) Lamiquiz of Minooka; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey (Chris) Drumm, Lynda (Mark) Govednik, Brian Drumm, Melissa Gallagher, Nicholette (Brian) Varley, Erica (Jason) Burke, Sarah Simon, David Lamiquiz and Jason (April) Lamiquiz; ten great-grandchildren, Lauren, Joseph, Jacob, Alex, Olivia, Fallon, David, Nicholas, Hailey and Alexis; numerous nieces, nephews, his wife's extended family and many special friends including Velma and Leon O'Brien.
Preceded in death by his parents; and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services for Bernard E. Stahoviak will be Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Plainfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at:
