Obituary of Raymond Vargocko
Raymond David Vargocko
Age 56 of Joliet, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, July 1, 2011 following a year long battle with cancer.
Raymond was born on October 17, 1954. He graduated from Lockport High School in the Class of 1972, and later attended Joliet Junior College. He was a talentend cabinet and wood worker for 38 years, with most of his years at Brakur Custom Cabinetry. He was also an avid golfer.
He was dearly loved by his family and will be missed. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Liz (nee Haines); his four children, Stephanie (Mike) Cole, Raymond (fiance Deena Ghandour) Vargocko, David (Sami Calzavara) Vargocko, and Samantha (Ethan Hollingsworth) Vargocko. His precious granddaughters Jessica and Laci Cole and his grandson Mikey Cole. He so dearly loved his sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy & Don Ballantine, Patty & Ken Novak, Nancy & Joe Zebell, Debbie & Dave Bessette, Karen & Karl Bourg, Deena & Dennis Lovato; his father and mother-in-law Bill and Mickey Haines; brothers-in-law Bill (Mary Ann Hutin) Haines, Bob (Pam) Haines, and Tom (Terri) Haines; and sister-in-law Barb (Mike) Mores.
Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Julie (Randy) Robbins, Jenny (Adam) Lorenz, John (Dominique) Ballantine, Kenny and Kyle Novak, Renee (Dustin) Joder, Lisa and Joey Zebell, Jacquelyn and David Bessette, Katie and Kristine Bourg, Vinny and Nicole Lovato, Jen Sweeney, Chris Haines, Jamie (Chris) Adkins, Shawna and Matt Haines, Kevin and Keith Mores, Natalie and Ryan Haines; his uncles Ed Pekar and Ray (Elaine) Pekar, Joe (Bev) Vargocko, Fritz (Darlene) Vargocko; aunts Betty Haake and Mary Gasparich; numerous cousin; and his walking buddy and longtime friend, John Seplak.
Raymond was preceded in death and together again with his son Daniel (1985), his father Raymond (2006), his mother Marge (2009), and his brother David (1966).
In honor of his memory we will all be wearing gym shoes, as we all know he will be wearing his.
Funeral services for Raymond will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home Chapel to Holy Family Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment Ss. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 3 - 8 p.m. at:
