Obituary of Nettie Viol

Nettie M. Viol (nee Sameck) Age 91. Passed away peacefully, Friday, October 2, 2009 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home. Born November 5, 1917 in Yugoslavia, she had resided in Crest Hill most of her life. A member of St. Anne Catholic Church. She retired in 1973 from Merichka's Restaurant, and had previously been employed at various area businesses including American Can Company and F.W. Sickles. Survived by two daughters, Barbara Krall Ryan of Joliet and Debbie (Rick) Bockenhauer of Carpentersville, IL; one son, Paul G. Viol of Crest Hill; nine grandchildren, Jorja (the late Jeffrey) Simonich, Jori Ryan, Joshua Ryan, Earl Clinton Kauffman, Jr., Adam David Kauffman, April Louise Bockenhauer, Jennifer Viol, Melissa Viol and Kelly Viol; six great-grandchildren, Kurtis, Cory, Destiny, Jason, Anthony and Andrew; one brother, Ray Sameck of Crest Hill; and one sister, Josephine Luman of Aurora. Preceded in death by her husband, Harry (1981); her parents; and great-granddaughter, Addison (2006). The family would like to extend a special thank you to the many friends from Caterpillar, Inc., as well as Joliet Area Community Hospice and Sunny Hill Nursing Home for their compassionate care. Funeral Services for Nettie M. Viol will be Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Private interment Elmhurst Cemetery.
