Obituary of James Voudrie
James P. Voudrie
Age 67, late of Joliet, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010 at his late residence with his loving family and faithful dogs, Blaze and Pico, at his side. Born in Joliet, he was a lifelong resident. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1964 to 1966 aboard the USS Essex. A firefighter for the City of Joliet, he retired following 33 years of service (1971-2004). He was also a retired sheet metal worker for Perella & Company (1983-1989). He was an avid gardener, cook, and loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing. He was devoted to his family and friends.
Survived by his children, Jennifer Voudrie (Rob) Kozlowski of Chicago, Jackie Voudrie-Gervais of Alaska, and Jim (Boo) Voudrie of Joliet; one granddaughter, Edie Gervais; one sister, Sue (Jim) McLean of Joliet; sister-in-law, Karen Voudrie of Joliet; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Alvin E. and Jessie C. (nee Perella) Voudrie; his daughter, Jessica Lynn Voudrie; and brother, Joseph E. Voudrie.
The family would like to thank the staff at Home Helpers of Lockport, and Peace Hospice of Chicago for their compassion and care given to our Dad.
Private funeral services were held. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to your local hospice program would be appreciated. Arrangements by:
