Ellen Nairne Webb
(nee Cuthbert)
Age 93, of Joliet, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home. A graduate of the University of Michigan, where she received her Bachelors degree. She taught in Massachusetts, Texas, and Arizona, before finally settling in the Joliet area where she had resided the past forty years. She taught and was also Director at Britannica Learning PreSchool, and the Early Achievement Center. Active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Survived by three sons, Douglas Melvin (Kathy Eileen) Webb, Ronald Kermit (late Patricia) Webb, and Barry William (Joy) Webb; 12 grandchildren, Michael (Deborah) Webb, Jeffrey (Andrea) Webb, Christopher Webb; Kevin Bryan (Carla) Webb, Sarah Ruthellen Webb; Alexander (Cecelia) Webb, Caroline (Jeremy) Simmons, Nicholas Webb; Shanna (Patrick) Perrone, Shane (Sarah) Webb, Shaun (Ashley) Webb, and Sharla (Ben) Ellis; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Almeda (late Richard) Metzler; one brother, Rev. William Rockwell (Chrystal) Cuthbert; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Webb; sister-in-law, Florence Cuthbert; numerous nieces and nephews; her caregiver, Toni; and beloved pets, Lissie and Cammie.
Preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Melvin Webb; son, Frederick Norman Webb; her brother, Ivan Norman Cuthbert, Jr.; and her parents, Ivan and Minnie Cuthbert.
Ellen N. Webb will Lie in State on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1015 Winthrop Avenue, Joliet from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials in her name to Westminster Presbyterian Church would be appreciated. Visitation Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at:
