Mary Whitley
(nee Scahill)
Age 86. At rest Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Joliet to the late Matthew and Grace (nee Sollars) Scahill, she was a lifelong resident. Member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus and the CCW.
Surviving are her three children, Sally (James) Smith of New Lenox, Marianne Whitley of Angleton, TX and William (Tracey) Whitley of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren, Sara (Brent) Koppenhaver of North Liberty, IA, Peter (Rebecca) DeAcetis of San Antonio, TX, Michael DeAcetis of Houston, TX and Sam DeAcetis of Angleton, TX; three great-grandchildren, Mary, Elizabeth and Joseph DeAcetis; one brother, Ambrose Scahill of Omaha, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, William Whitley (1995); parents; two sisters, Willa Comerford and Rita Cooney.

Funeral Services for Mary Whitley will be Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Ave., Joliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials in her name to the Cathedral of St. Raymond School to assist those with tuition needs. Visitation Saturday at the Cathedral from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Arrangements by:
