Age 50. Suddenly, Tuesday, January 22, 2008.
Born June 12, 1957 in Fairfield, IL to Charles and Twyla Williams, he had been a resident of Joliet since 1979. He was employed by the Joliet Park District as a mechanic the past 17 years, where he was a member and past President of AFSCME Local #1753. He was a member of A.B.A.T.E. of Will County, Antique Motorcycle Club of America, Model A Club, Four Cylinder Club, and D.H. Choppers.
Gene was an avid motorcycle enthusiast whose custom and antique restoration work was admired and appreciated by all who knew him. He also enjoyed deer hunting, but most of all he loved to ride.
Survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Cheryl (nee Brandt) of Joliet; one son, Charles (fiancee, Rebecca Eigenheer) of Carbon Hill; one daughter, Amanda Williams of Joliet; two sisters, Cindy (Rick) Morton of Belle Riv, IL and Linda (Larry) Moles of McLeansboro, IL; his mother-in-law, Norene Brandt; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles.
Funeral Services for Voyle E. Williams will be Monday, January 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elledge Funeral Home, 119 Main Street, Enfield, IL 62835. Interment Enfield Cemetery. LOCAL visitation Saturday, January 26, 2008 from 2-8 p.m. at:
